Singapore Health and Biomedical Congress 2010 (SHBC) - Awards
Three of our staff were recognised for their efforts in clinical research and study at the inaugural SHBC on 12 and 13 November. Congratulations to: A/Prof Sim Kang (Consultant, Department of General Psychiatry) won the Singapore Clinician-Investigator Award (Bronze) and SHB Best Poster Award - Basic Science Research/ Translational Research (Gold), Mr Benny Li Kaihui (Senior Pharmacist) won the Singapore Allied Health Award (Bronze) and SHB Best Poster award Allied Health (Silver) and Mr Zhou Zhenyu (Senior Staff Nurse) won the Singapore Nursing Award (Gold).

Ms Tan Chay Huang Sharon of Nursing Administration conducted a Description Study that examines the Burden and Coping Strategies Experienced by Caregiver of Patients with Mental Illness in the Community.
Bronze NHG Doctor Award, NHG Annual Scientific Meeting 2008
Dr Thomas Lee was awarded NHG doctor award for his study on the executive function system and impulsivity level between pathological gamblers and normal controls from an Asian commmunity in Singapore.
National Research Foundation - MOH Healthcare Research Scholarship Award
Dr Jimmy Lee clinched this prestigious award in May 2008.
Conferment of Doctor of Medicine Degree (MD)
A/Prof Chong Siow Ann has been conferred Doctor of Medicine Degree (MD) by the National University of Singapore on 14 February 2008. The MD was conferred for his thesis "Risk Factors for Tardive Dyskinesia among Asian Patients with Schizophrenia".
Best Oral Presentation, NHG Annual Scientific Meeting 2007
Dr Sim Kang, Consultant won the best oral presentation award for his neuroimging study: Cerebral White Matter Abnormalities and Neurocognitive Correlates in Schizophrenia with Passivitiy: A3T Diffusion Tensor Imaging Study.
NHG Clinician Leader Research Award 2007
Dr Jimmy Lee, Registrar, Department of General Psychiatry won the award for his research correlating the gene product found in blood with schizophrenia.
NMRC Medical Research Scientist Award 2007
Ms Janhavi Vaingankar, Clinical Research Coordinator from the Research Division received the NMRC Medical Research Division received the NMRC Medical Research Scientist Award in September 2007. The award will cover Ms Vaingankar's course fees for a Master Degree in Epidemiology offered by the prestigious London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine at the University of London.
Clinician Scientist Awards 2007
A/Prof Chong Siow Ann received this award in recognition of his work in early psychosis intervention, schizophrenia genetics projects, psychiatric epidemiology and health services.
WHO State of Kuwait Health Promotion 2006 Award
IMH/WH's EPIP won the in recognition of its outstanding contribution to research in health promotion.
